There is an increasing adoption of renewable energy sources globally. In particular, in India, solar energy plays an increasingly important part of the country’s growth and sustainability. In 2015 the target was raised to 100 GW of solar capacity by 20221 .
Akal Academy is a group of academic institutions in Punjab India, that helps students mostly from the deprived sections of society gain access to quality education. There are twelve (12) sites in remote areas of Punjab. The sites were electrified through hybrid solar plants integrated with the grid.
The aim of this project is twofold-
The scope of the study includes daily time-series data between November 2018 and November 2020 for four Akal Academy hybrid solar plant sites in Punjab, namely, Balbhera, Bhadaur, Fatehgarh Channa and Talvandi.
Therefore, the findings can be leveraged to improve smoothness in the grid to minimise loss of solar PV output.
